National Budget Blinds Initiative Spotlights Franchisees Who Give Back
“Budget Blinds Cares” spotlights franchisees like Priscilla Glidewell, who used her Budget Blinds business to open a foster home for kids.
IRVINE, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2018) – A record new Budget Blinds initiative spotlights franchise owners who selflessly give back to their communities as a way to encourage similar acts of kindness by business owners nationwide.
“Budget Blinds Cares” launched Oct. 1 as the largest community service initiative in the history of Budget Blinds, the signature window covering brand in the Home Franchise Concepts (HFC) family. Spotlighting Budget Blinds local business owners who give back on three local levels – to their communities, customers, and customers’ homes – the three-month program is highlighted by a video-sharing contest to celebrate the most caring franchisees in the company.
The program represents an extension of HFC’s long commitment to caring, giving back, and encouraging volunteerism and public service, both corporately and in its more than 10,000 cities in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
“Since a high percentage of our nearly 1,000 Budget Blinds business owners are actively giving back in their communities, we wanted to officially recognize some of our most caring franchisees as a way to incentivize even more local philanthropic service – both inside and outside the company,” said HFC CEO Shirin Behzadi. “That’s because we know from experience that caring and giving-back are contagious: the more you hear about the amazing things that others are doing in your community, the more you want to roll up your sleeves and pitch in yourself.”
One of the franchisees being honored is Priscilla Glidewell, owner of Budget Blinds Serving Mid-Willamette Valley in Stayton, Ore., who used her franchise to create Noah’s Ark, a foster home for children ages 7-11. Glidewell challenges her Budget Blinds employees to serve as mentors and uses her office as a training site for developmentally disabled students transitioning from high school to adult work services.
Under the “Budget Blinds Cares” program, Budget Blinds franchisees are encouraged to post a unique:15-30 video about their community work on their Budget Blinds Facebook, Twitter, or other social pages using the hashtag #BudgetBlindsCares between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2018. HFC will share some of the most inspiring videos on the national Budget Blinds web and social pages before hosting an opportunity for the public to vote for the most caring Budget Blinds franchisee.
Behzadi will personally recognize the participating Budget Blinds franchisee receiving the most votes at the Budget Blinds National Convention in January 2019 and present a $10,000 check to the community program or nonprofit organization featured in the winning video.
“At Budget Blinds, we offer products and expertise that make a house a home – so caring and giving back has always been part of our DNA,” said Behzadi. “The extraordinary work of our franchisees allows us to make good on our promise to create communities that are vibrant and full of hope. Priscilla and others prove it every day: one person can make a difference in their community and in the world.”
